TOP TEN TUESDAY #7: Cowboy Bebop.Since these are separate from the original Bebop series, the artwork is a bit strange, but the stories are still good! I’ve inserted a link here that explains some pretty neat stuff about the manga series. Love me some Bebop though.
reddragons by rollenran on Flickr. #1- Spike Spiegel And number 1 is Spike, of course! Bebop was number one in the last countdown, so of course a character from Bebop has to be number 1 here! Why do I love Spike? Probably because he’s a mysterious guy, who’s had an interesting past. Being part of a syndicate, dying, becoming a bounty hunter with an ex-cop, killing the Red Dragon leader and dying again. Seriously, the last 2 episodes makes me cry so much. When the Bebop crew leave each other, when Spike dies. The final song. Tears, everywhere! Also, I just want to give a shoutout to Vicious (pictured) in this post. He’s a fantastic villain. And you can’t have an amazing hero like Spike, without an amazing villain like Vicous. So kudos to the creators of Cowboy Bebop for making it so wonderful and meaningful. And thus concludes my anime character countdown! Hope you’ve enjoyed it! 
#3- Faye Valentine Yay! It’s Faye! I kind of hinted that she might be in this countdown, since I was finding it difficult to choose my favorite women characters. I was also tossing up between Julia and Edward, also from Cowboy Bebop, but since I did Ed in the last countdown, I stuck with Faye. She’s a fantastic character! Sexy, witty, cunning, tough but also emotional and going through a huge life trial by recovering her memories. I also love this picture of her and Spike. Their relationship is so interesting to watch. Faye clearly falls in love with him, but knows that he can never return her feelings, because of Julia. But I still love Faye! She’s the best female bounty hunter this side of Mars.

#1 Cowboy Bebop Spike Spiegel.The greatest anime character to have graced my television. He has such an incredible back story, complex relationships and has a unique style that only suits him. His back story involves organised crime (the Red Dragon syndicate) which link him to relationships with people such as Vicious and his lover, Julia. What’s even more interesting about his relationships is the fact that he teams up with Jet, an ex-cop. I also love his style, a bounty hunter, gun-slinging cowboy with a Bruce Lee style of martial arts training and the fact that he has artificial body parts after a near death experience. That near death experience also makes him so awesome as he mentions it a few times, having “died once”. I love the English actor that does his voice. He’s also the same voice as Mugen from Samurai Champloo. All together, Spike is a fantastic character. The mystery that surrounds him makes him alluring and his final scene (pictured above) gives him the ending he deserves. Bang.

A young crazy hacker that rolls around on the floor speaking nonsense and refers to herself in the third person. What’s not to love about her? I wished I could carry around a computer on my head, hack a ship like the Bebop and fly it around like a toy. Ed is the perfect amount of comedy relief in Cowboy Bebop, and although her antics seem unwanted by the Bebop crew, her departure is certainly felt. A sad episode that one is, since Ein goes with her! She’s such a cute little hacker with a body like jelly, the Bebop crew love her, even if they wont admit it haha. Not coming back for Ed, oo la la.
cowboy bebop by jar64 on Flickr. #1 Cowboy BebopBEBOP NUMBER 1! THAT’S WHAT’S UP! You all knew it. Bebop is always going to be number 1 on my top anime list, no doubt. So this winning anime post is actually going to be in 4 parts. That’s right! 4 parts! This one is the winning announcement and review, the next 2 will be dedicated to my favorite characters and the last will be my favorite song from the many soundtracks (it’s going to be hard to pick just one!). So Cowboy Bebop is just a classic anime through and through. First, by looking at the characters, each one has a complex past and back story that has somehow led all of them to the Bebop. Second, this anime is a combination of awesome themes. Space cowboy bounty hunters, jazz, computer hackers and organised crime, what more could you want? But wait there’s more! An absolute killer soundtrack (or should I say soundtracks) that mix jazz, blues, techno and stellar vocals in both English and Japanese (and some French tracks too I think). I have never been able to just watch a bit of Bebop at a time. I always have to sit down and watch the whole thing. The movie is an exception though. Also, the final episode makes me cry. Without fail. I’ve cried every time. I dont want to give away what happens, but for those who have seen it, you know what I’m talking about haha. So, if you’ve never watched this anime, you’re really missing out! Next up, will be my character posts. I’ll let you know now, it’s going to be Ed and Spike!See you later, space cowboy.
